Hi Everyone!
It’s been a really long time since I’ve added anything new to this site and I’m working on getting back into it. I’m curious what YOU guys would like to learn more about. Let me know in the comments!
I also wanted to let everyone know that I’m slowly but surely working on creating an eBook that I’ll be allowing you all to download for free once I finish it! Keep a look out for that!

Hi, maybe an article describing how to gracefully decline a tutor request – for whatever reason?

Great idea, thanks for the suggestion! That is a really tough situation to be in. I think I’ll try to tie that in with ending things with a current client as well. Thanks again!

HI, Enjoying the blog. The portfolio idea is golden, I have a digital portfolio on my website with standardized test scores, transcripts, testimonials, philosophy, etc. and I’ve done free lessons for years but I never thought to make a hard copy portfolio and hand it out while I give the free session, brilliant! I’ve never had trouble obtaining clients, but every good idea helps, and I may not always be so lucky to be in a community that respects me as much as this one does.
I think talking about gradefully adjusting your rates, expanding your presence in the community (adult ed classes, afterschool club advising, etc.) and how to market test prep (SAT etc.) tutoring as distinct from standard tutoring would be good topics. Good luck with the ebook, if you’d like to email me an advance copy I’d be happy to write you a testimonial if I enjoy it. Take care.

Thanks for the feedback, Christopher! I appreciate the compliment, I love the portfolio strategy. Thanks a lot for the ideas too. I have been meaning to get back to work on this site again but I keep pushing it back to the back burner. I’ll definitely send you a copy of the eBook when it’s ready. That is the one aspect of this site that I have been working on lately!
